As principal and owner of small, specialty professional services firm, I am dedicated exclusively to providing hands-on consulting on behalf of the client - day in and out. In a complex and often conflicted world, my commitment is to public-private partnership, creating impetus for action and on-the-ground implementation. At the end of the day, we succeed only when the plan coupled with a clear commitment to action is not ours, but yours.
Whatever the assignment,
my objective is to provide thorough analysis and thoughtful presentation - getting it right for you.
Whether as part of a multi-disciplinary team or as a sole practitioner on your behalf, I focus on those pieces of the puzzle where I can add the most value.
Eric Hovee focuses on economic and development services - meeting distinct needs of private, non-profit and public agency clients. Before opening a consulting practice in 1984, Eric served as Economic Development Manager for the City of Vancouver WA and in a similar capacity for the City of Portland OR.
Examples of services provided over the course of a public sector economic development and subsequent private consulting practice include:
Demographic, economic and real estate market research
Financial feasibility, independent review and socio-economic impact analyses
Customized economic modeling for single- and multi-project development areas
One-on-one stakeholder interview and larger focus group processes
Strategic business, economic and community development planning
Negotiation and packaging of public-private development projects
Client representation in public review and project approval processes
Educated at the University of Pennsylvania in economics and urban studies, Eric's experience ranges from market and feasibility studies to strategic business planning to negotiating public-private development projects. He has served as an instructor and speaker for the National Main Street Center, U.S. Conference of Mayors, and for statewide planning and development organizations in Washington, Oregon and California. At home, he has been involved in public-private boards for neighborhood advocacy, affordable housing, workforce training, and economic development.
Married, with five daughters and 11 grand-children, Eric is rooted in the globally pace-setting Pacific Northwest. His emergent interests include the historical-theological record including antiquities of the Levant.
While respecting tried and true mainstream orthodoxies, I also look for the road less traveled. And at times, that can make all the difference.
